Tuesday 12th May 2020 is Florence Nightingale’s bicentennial … and a good excuse for cake and biscuits!
This is ‘International Nurses Day’ and 2020 is also ‘Year of the Nurse and Midwife’.
It is an opportunity for us to to say Thank you for all the amazing work that our wonderful nurses do (working with their fellow health professionals) to provide care and attention for patients, their families and carers. You are the human face of nursing for the patients of Lymington New Forest Hospital.
Cake and Biscuits
Brockenhurst resident and member of the Great British Bake Off team Hilary Newstead, made some fabulous carrot cake and wonderful ‘nurse biscuits’ to present to Alison Davies (In-Patient Matron) for staff.
Some of the nurse biscuits are a little cheeky!!
To bring a smile and say thank you, Hilary created a set of individual nurse biscuits .. not sure who pose for the cheeky one in the top row!?
Time for a chat at Lymington Cottage Hospital in the 50’s
Alison fondly remembers a quiet cuppa and chat with colleagues … not that she is in this photo!
Our modern Lymington Florence Nightingales
Ready for action, our modern day team, caring for patients and working hard to keep everyone safe.
Thank you
