Walhampton Ladies fundraise for the hospital
For the second year in a row, the ladies of Walhampton Golf Club have adopted Lymington Hospital as their Captain’s charity. Ian Hynd, Operations Manager of the Hospital Friends, can be seen receiving a magnificent cheque for £2,300 from Eve Ritchie-Fallon, last year’s Ladies’ Captain, cheered on by over 20 of Eve’s fellow lady members before they all ‘tee off’.
Eve explained:
“I’m delighted that we could again support Lymington Hospital as my Captain’s charity last year. It is wonderful to have such a well-equipped and friendly local hospital on our doorstep. Despite a 3-month shut down, when we were not allowed to operate as a ‘club’, we managed to raise £2300 which for such a small club with barely 50 lady members is an astonishing feat!
I am pleased to make this donation in person at one of our regular fun days and looking forward to an enjoyable round of golf in the sunshine.”
Accepting the cheque, on behalf of the Friends, Ian noted:
“It’s a pleasure to meet Walhampton Ladies’ Golfers to receive this very generous donation, which will support a project to develop new resources to improve Diabetes awareness and treatment”.
Arthur England, joint chair, and trustee of the Friends added:
“We value the continued support from the magnificent Walhampton Ladies and the many other local clubs and societies that fundraise for the Friends’ ongoing projects to improve patient care
See how you can fundraise or donate now … THANK YOU”.
